A common early summer scene on the Eastern Shore. I encountered this view along one of my favorite back roads. The time is around 7 or 7:30p in late June, when all the world is draped in a lovely warm gold light.

I live and work in the Mid Atlantic of the United States, near the Chesapeake Bay. The landscapes of western Pennsylvania and Maryland, the Virginia Piedmont, and Maryland's Eastern Shore have been major influences in my artistic life. I've also been influenced or inspired by other artists: the Dutch artists of the 17th century (particularly their landscape drawings), Thomas Moran, Frederic Remington, and present day artists Robert Bateman, Terry Isaac, Roger Bansemer, and Martin Grelle.
