I enjoyed the one point perspective on this painting and the sunlight splashing down over the scene. The depiction of light plays a key role in establishing a sense of depth, particularly in the lower left foreground.
I live and work in the Mid Atlantic of the United States, near the Chesapeake Bay. The landscapes of western Pennsylvania and Maryland, the Virginia Piedmont, and Maryland's Eastern Shore have been major influences in my artistic life. I've also been influenced or inspired by other artists: the Dutch artists of the 17th century (particularly their landscape drawings), Thomas Moran, Frederic Remington, and present day artists Robert Bateman, Terry Isaac, Roger Bansemer, and Martin Grelle.
